UAB Teacher Education Program

You  must be admitted to the UAB Teacher Education Program (TEP) in order to become a teacher. The UAB TEP includes undergraduate programs that lead to Class B certification in the following areas:

  • Art Education
  • Early Childhood/Elementary Education
  • Foreign Language Education
  • Health Education
  • High School Education
  • Middle School Education
  • Music Education
  • Physical Education
  • Special Education (Collaborative Teaching, Grades K-6)

All programs within UAB's Teacher Education Program (TEP) are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the Alabama State Board of Education.
