In Brief…

Jerry Patterson is Professor of Leadership Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In his more than 30 years of experience as an educator, he has served as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, elementary school principal, and high school teacher. With over 200,000 copies of his books in print, Patterson has authored eight nationally recognized books and published more than two dozen articles in professional journals.  His most recent book is Resilient School Leaders, published in 2005 by The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Nationally, Patterson has conducted workshops and presentations to over 20,000 educators and other leaders in forty states. Internationally, he has trained educational leaders in Slovakia, Israel, Nepal, Ecuador, Spain, and Canada. Patterson’s focus is in the areas of leadership development, personal and organizational resilience, and culture change.
