CDC Summer Internship
Program, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention
A limited number of informal unpaid internships
are available in the Prevention Research Branch of the Division of HIV/AIDS
Prevention. Students may begin a 3-month internship in May, June, or
July. Interns should have some experience in systematic coding and analysis
of qualitative interview data, as well as facility with basic statistics.
Experience conducting thematic literature reviews and using literature
searching software is desirable. Students should have interests and
backgrounds in areas related to HIV prevention and behavioral research (for
example, substance use, sexual risk behavior, gay sexuality, sexual abuse,

Fall and Spring Internships
at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP)
IHEP, a non-profit,
non-partisan research and policy organization in Washington, DC, sponsors a
year-round internship program for undergrads and graduate students with an
interest in public policy research. Each internship is for a full
academic semester and includes a stipend of $1,500. Interns are considered
members of the regular staff, providing research assistance and
administrative support. Previous interns have performed library- and
