This course will teach concepts needed to be an effective Peer Educator:

 

 Who is SHAPE?     Sexual Health & Awareness Through Peer Education

 

SHAPE is a group of trained and knowledgeable volunteer educators interested in responding to the need for sexual health information, encouraging youth and college-aged peers to evaluate their own needs and concerns about sexuality, and communicating in an atmosphere that is safe and fun.

 

As a SHAPE Peer Educator you will be:

· 98% of college students know how HIV is transmitted, but less than 25% use condoms consistently and correctly?

· 80% of women with gonorrhea have no symptoms?

· Most young people would like to learn more facts about sexuality?
