Jamie Malaugh

Jamie Malaugh is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Department of Mathematics at UAB. His initial experiences with modeling and visualization were as a graduate assistant in the UAB EdGrid Program. In the UAB EdGrid Program, he obtained hands-on experience in secondary, undergraduate, and graduate classrooms. He also assists Dr. John C. Mayer in the newly developed course, Introduction to Mathematical Modeling. Recently, he assisted Dr. Mayer in establishing a program called K-12 Higher Education Partnership (KHEP), designed to attract selected Birmingham high school student/teacher teams to participate in mathematical and scientific research. In addition, he participated in the SC2000 Computer Modeling and Visualization Workshop in Dallas, Texas, November, 2000, and the Computer Modeling and Visualization Workshop at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, Huntsville, Alabama, July 2001, both sponsored by National Computational Science Leadership Program (NCSLP). Jamie is the UAB GK-12 Graduate Teaching Fellow who will work with at two middle schools- Berry Middle School and Simmons Middle Schools- in Hoover City Schools, Hoover, Alabama during the 2002-03 academic year.
