School of Education Giving
The Office of Development, Research and Grant Support provides primary leadership in "major gift fund-raising" for the School of Education. The Development Office seeks to identify donor prospects, to engage and cultivate prospects, and when appropriate, to solicit for gifts and ensure proper stewardship of gifts. The Dean and faculty members play a pivotal role in the cultivation process. Individuals who are interested in supporting the school with a major gift need to be inspired by the great teaching, research and service that are taking place. Ideally, the development officer can sensitively mesh the donor's most cherished philanthropic aspiration with faculty and or programs of the School. Thus, when a good fit occurs, the gift becomes an enriching and rewarding experience for both parties. The Development Office in the School of Education is part of the University's Centralized/Decentralized program. Thus, we are responsible both to the School of Education and to the Central Administration of the University.
