Tutors/Mentors Needed!
Generalist Tutor
The Academic Center
for Athletics is currently recruiting candidates to
mentor student-athletes by assisting in areas of time
management, organization of class work, and development
of effective study skills. Must be at least junior
standing, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be working
toward a degree in, or have interest in a career in the
education field. Candidates must be personable, and be
able to communicate effectively with a diverse
population of students. Interested candidates should

Academic Mentor Job Description
Academic
Mentors will serve as the front-line contact with a
designated group of student-athletes throughout the
semester. All mentors will report directly to the
Director of Student-Athlete Support Services. Weekly
time commitment will be approximately 10-15 hours.
Duties include monitoring weekly progress, assisting in
the creation of goals and deadlines, constant written
and oral communication with the athletic academic
advisors and possible interaction with professors and
tutors. This job requires a certain level of academic
assistance and therefore it is desired that mentors are
qualified to tutor.
