The UAB School of Education is home to a diverse group of faculty members with varied backgrounds in education and administration. In addition to our full-time faculty in our three academic departments, the school also calls on area educators to support instruction as adjunct faculty. UAB Employee of the Month, Juanita Turner
Juanita Turner of the Department of Human Studies within the School of Education has been selected to receive recognition as UAB Employee of the Month. This is a prestigious campus wide honor based upon letters of nomination and recommendation. An awards ceremony and reception was held for Juanita August 28th.

Surveys Launched to Assess Health Needs of Alabamians With Disabilities
"The Alabama surveys will examine how caregivers of the disabled obtain health information and whether they can access needed social services and health insurance. Researchers also will identify the kinds of training medical professionals need to provide better care for the disabled, Geiger says. Data from the surveys will be used to develop training modules for students in various health fields."
