Assistant/Associate Professor of Counselor Education, Field Placement Coordinator – Tenure Track
Qualifications: Must have Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will:
A. have experience teaching counselor education courses in higher education, hold a credential as a licensed professional counselor or be eligible for licensure in Alabama, be familiar with CACREP accreditation requirements,
B. have experience as a supervisor and hold a credential for supervision or be eligible for the supervising counselor credential in Alabama,
C. have a successful record with applying for and receiving grants,
D. have expertise in the use of educational technology and distance learning.
The responsibilities of the position are:
A. coordinating and administering all field experiences in the counselor education program, recruiting students, teaching program core courses,
B. teaching other courses as assigned, advising counselor education students, coordinating orientation for field supervisors, developing new clinical sites,
C. seeking grants, participating in appropriate scholarly activities, professional organizations and providing services at the local, state and national level,
D. providing current information to the counselor education website and developing and enhancing distance learning opportunities.
