One Year Commitment
> Earn money for college*
> Earn a monthly living allowance
> Full and Part Time Opportunities
Full Time members provide 40 hours per week/1750 hours per year.
Receive $925 monthly Living Allowance/$4,725 Educational Award, Childcare, and Healthcare Benefit if eligible.
Part Time members provide 20 hours per week/925 hours per year.
Receive $462 Monthly Living Allowance/$2,362.50 Educational Award.
AmeriCorps members will provide an array of services including in-class academic and literacy support; leading after-school and out-of-school time programming, recruiting volunteers to engage in Birmingham READS service; and developing and implementing community service projects. Members will receive training in areas such as diversity awareness, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), CPR/First Aid, leadership, citizenship, and career planning.
Qualifications
> At least 17 years of age
> Clean criminal background
> Strong commitment to improving communities through service
> Ability to work individually and with a diverse team
> Relative team, volunteer, and leadership experience, as well as experience working with youth highly preferred
