Elementary Education (ELE) Undergraduate Requirements
To qualify for a baccalaureate degree and the Alabama "Class B" professional certificate in Elementary Education, students must complete 60 hours in general studies, including humanities, social sciences, natural and physical sciences, health education, and physical education. Professional preparation includes courses in humanistic and behavioral studies, early childhood education, curriculum and teaching, evaluation of teaching and learning, and an internship. Each student must work closely with his or her advisor for appropriate selection of courses in each area in general and professional studies.
