Elementary Education (ELE)
Program
Programs in Elementary Education focus on the intellectual, psychological, and social development of children in grades K-6, curriculum, and the development of preservice and inservice educators.
To qualify for a baccalaureate degree and the Alabama "Class B" professional certificate in Elementary Education, students must complete 60 hours in general studies, including humanities, social sciences, natural and physical sciences, health education, and physical education.
UAB also offers the following degree programs:
- a nontraditional fifth-year M.A.Ed. degree (with Class A certification),
- a traditional M.A.Ed, degree (with A certification), and
- an Ed.S. degree (with AA certification).
