Education Grant Resources

Fulbright Grants

Graduate study or research project in an overseas country. Requires proficiency in language of host country. 1,000 awards to cover tuition, travel, book expenses, plus stipends for one year.

 

Charles A. Lindbergh Foundation Grants

$10,580 for an innovative undergraduate or graduate student research project to develop a balance between technological advancement and environmental preservation.

 

Barnes & Noble K-12 Grants

Through its stores, Barnes & Noble provides funding to local and regional efforts to promote literacy and the arts in K-12 education. Proposals should include a literacy or arts component that fosters both student achievement and community growth. Grant recipient must plan to promote the programs within local stores. Visit a store in your area to receive more info. Proposals should be submitted to local or regional Barnes & Noble Community Relations Manager or Store Manager. All nonprofits supporting the arts, literacy, or K-12 education are eligible to apply.

 

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation partners with educational organizations and institutions that share our commitment to enabling exceptionally promising lower-income students to reach their full potential. Through strategically targeted grants, the Foundation works to expand educational opportunities for thousands of remarkable students whose families, schools, and communities need additional resources to help these students fulfill their promise.

 

Braitmayer Foundation Grants

Grants of up to $10,000 are awarded to fund a broad range of K-12 educational programs, with a particular interest in curricular reform initiatives and professional development opportunities for teachers, particularly those that encourage people of high ability and diverse background to become teachers.

 

Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation Grant Program

Foundation offers two types of grants (Evaluation and Replication) to identify and disseminate innovative practices for helping underprivileged youth reach their full potential. Grant awards range between $5,000-20,000.

 

AAHPERD (Amer Assn for Hlth, Phys Edu, Rec and Dance) Research Consortium Grant Program

The AAHPERD Research Consortium is now in its sixth year of funding important new research projects in the HPERD disciplines. To date, the Research Consortium has awarded over $212,000 to researchers in 19 different universities across the nation. Applications are due on October 1 of each year and are limited to AAHPERD members who have been a member of the Research Consortium for at least one full year at the time of application.

 

The NEA Foundation - Supports a variety of efforts by teachers, education support professionals, and higher education faculty and staff to improve student learning in the nation's public schools, colleges, and universities.

UAB Graduate Student Travel Grant - Currently, each graduate student* in good academic standing and enrolled at the time of travel, is eligible for one Travel Award of up to $200.00 each academic year if the student is presenting at the conference. If the student is only attending the conference, the student is eligible for $100.00 each academic year. The expenses are intended to cover registration, travel, hotel expenses, and/or professional poster printing fees.

Lowe's Toolbox for Education - Up to $5,000 per school is available for Any individual non-profit public K-12 school or parent group associated with a non-profit public K-12 school.

CIGNA Grants - Offered to support innovative programs addressing the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities.

US Soccer Foundation - The Foundation's support has benefited more than 500 grantees, covering all 50 states, and has served the entire spectrum of soccer communities from small local clubs to the U.S. Soccer Federation, the National Governing Body for the sport in the United States.

Bikes Belong - Accept requests for funding of up to $10,000 for facility and advocacy projects. Deadline November 24, 2008.

RGK Foundation - RGK Foundation awards grants in the broad areas of Education, Community, and Medicine/Health. The Foundation's primary interests within Education include programs that focus on formal K-12 education (particularly mathematics, science and reading), teacher development, literacy, and higher education.

Alan Shepard Technology In Education Award - In a continuing effort to recognize outstanding contributions by K-12 educators and District level personnel in the field of Educational Technology, the Astronauts Memorial Foundation (AMF) in partnership with the Space Foundation and NASA, is pleased to present the Alan Shepard Technology in Education Award. The Award recognizes outstanding contributions made by technology personnel or classroom teachers to technology education.  Deadline Jan.26, 2009.

Music Matters Grants -  2009 will focus on educational reform in school music programs and independent music programs.  Grants will be awarded in April 2009 (money will be distributed by October 2009), to schools and music programs throughout the United States.  Grant amounts for this cycle are between $1,000-$12,000 each and are made on an annual one-time basis.
