UAB School of Education General Outcomes for all Counselor Education Programs

OUTCOME 12:  Learning Environment.

OUTCOME C12: The UAB School Counselor candidate fosters an emotionally, socially, and physically safe learning environment.

    C12.K  Knowledge and Understanding: The Counselor-in-training understands and has knowledge of the school setting, environment, and how to promote the use of counseling and guidance activities and programs to enhance a positive school climate; additionally, understands issues that may affect the development and functioning of students (e.g., violence).

Proficient Initial Performance
Demonstrates adequate knowledge and understanding of the school setting, environment, and how to promote the use of counseling and guidance activities and programs to enhance a positive school climate; additionally, understands issues that may affect the development and functioning of students (e.g., violence).
[4]
Emerging Advanced Performance
Demonstrates exemplary knowledge and understanding of the school setting, environment, and how to promote the use of counseling and guidance activities and programs to enhance a positive school climate; additionally, understands issues that may affect the development and functioning of students (e.g., violence).

Consistently demonstrates counseling and guidance activities and programs to enhance a positive school climate and address issues that may affect the development and functioning of students (e.g., violence).
