James S. Davidson III, 2007-2008 Counselor Education Hall of Fame Recipient
James S. Davidson, III received his doctorate from the University of Alabama, in 1965. He was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Delta Kappa, both at the University of Alabama. Dr. Davidson became a part time instructor at UAB in 1967, instructor in 1968 and Assistant Professor in 1977. He also was involved in other duties while at UAB, including Coordinator of the Office of School Services, Director of the Office of Personnel and Research Services, Director of Student Personnel Services, University Teacher Certification Office, Assistant for Education to the Dean of the Graduate School, and Clinical Instructor in Nursing.
While at UAB, Dr. Davidson taught Research in Education and Introductory and Intermediate Statistics in addition to other research design courses. It was his role as teacher and Department Chair for which he is honored. In 1982, Dr. Davidson became the Chair of Human Services and Education. Dr. Davidson retired from UAB in 1996.
