Evaluation of the Ethiopia Textbook & Learning Materials Project

The Center for Educational Accountability at the University of Alabama at Birmingham assisted the Textbooks and Learning Materials Program staff in the School of Education at AAMU with evaluating results of the Textbook and Learning Materials Project pilot study conducted at seven schools in Ethiopia.  Activities included collaborating on the design and development of assessments, managing data, analyzing results, and reporting results.  The assessments included student and teacher interviews and surveys, student content tests, classroom observations, and student focus groups.  The Grade 8 English textbook was piloted in 2007, and the Grade 1 textbook will be piloted in 2008.
