We invite you to a summer enrichment program that encourages children to select their daily plan of study, work at their own pace, and enhance their academic development. Whether it is a science experiment with everyday food items or writing and publishing a newspaper, children discover how exciting learning can be.
2008 Summer Program Enrichment and reading programs for students ages 4 through grade 3 and workshops for ages 10-12 will be offered at Rocky Ridge Elementary School from 8 a.m. until noon. Fees, times, and subjects vary. See workshops for more information. Questions will be handled by UAB School of Education, (205) 934-8358 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Enrichment Program @$125 weekly: Children participate in hour-long workshops centered around all curricular areas. Children ages 7-9 will select 4 workshops of interest per week. Children ages 4-6 participate in workshops as a group. Enrichment Program with Reading @$150 weekly. Children attend 2 hours per day of intensive literacy instruction, along with 2 hour-long enrichment workshops. Individualized instruction will be based on administered assessments. Reading Camp Only @$100 weekly. Children attend 2 hours (10am-12pm)of intensive literacy instruction. Individualized instruction will be based on administered assessments. Workshops for 10-12 year olds: Fees, times, and topics vary. See schedule on back of registration form for more information. Afternoon Care: Afternoon care will be offered from 12:00-6:00 at Rocky Ridge Elementary School. The cost will be $85 per week for 1 child, $125 per week for 2 children, $145 per week for 3 children and $165 per week for 4 children. Registration deadline for afternoon care is May 2, no exceptions. Afternoon Care is only available for children ages K-5th grade. Occasionally, children in the UAB Children's Creative
Learning Center may be audio taped, photographed, or videotaped for educational
purposes. If you do not want your child used in these media formats, please send
your request in writing at the beginning of the summer session in which your
